Rooted in Rights, Rising with Communities
Addressing issues of equal and equitable share of the marginalised communities in natural resources
Welcome!
Vikalp Social Organisation, founded in 1979 in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, empowers forest-dependent communities—tribals, pastoralists and marginalised groups—by advancing their rights over natural resources. Rooted in Constitutional values and the Forest Rights Act, it builds women-led, community-governed institutions that promote sustainable livelihoods, ecological justice and social transformation across India’s forested regions.
